How To Keep Your Kids Entertained On Long Flights

Depending on the age of your kids there are few things you can do on a long flight that will keep them occupied. Most of the time you will be seated next to them, allow them to be seated by the window. You should encourage them to describe what they see during takeoff and how the sky changes once they are in flight. Younger kids that usually fly might have some books or coloring pages that they can use during the flight, Sensor swab if it's a really long flight you should bring something that they can concentrate on for a while but then be able to switch to something different.

Since most flights do not allow cell phone usage you can still play the pre-loaded games or the downloaded games and not break any rules. Make sure to have ear buds so they don't disturb other passengers. Your space is limited so don't bring anything bulky such as a board game. If an in flight movie is offered and you agree with the ratings you can always let them watch it to pass the time. Electronic devices such as a Nintendo DS or hand held gaming device is a fun way to pass the time and keep your kids entertained. Make sure to charge it fully before you leave or have fresh batteries if they start to run low.

As long as you interact with your child during the flight it will pass the time. You might even do something together such as a crossword puzzle or seek a word, make sure to get a few that are geared toward their age so they can solve them with your help. You can also grab some Mad Libs from the book store; it's always fun to help create something funny when you are trying to pass the time. Eventually your child will get tired so be sure to bring a pillow for them rest with, and try to rest when your child does that way they won't be awake when you are sleeping.

If they like a certain book series you can bring those along too. Reading always helps kids relax and it will help to keep them entertained. If you have an MP3 player you can download some books on it and let your child listen to a story being told instead of reading one, either way they will be relaxed on the flight. Now if they do get restless make sure to let them move around the cabin if they can. A few strolls down the aisle will help them stretch their legs.

When children know how long a flight is going to be they can gauge how long it will take, you can also help them pass the time with coloring books, electronic games and interactive games. If there is a chance to visit the cockpit do, it's always fun to learn about how the plane is flown and meet the people who help make it fly. You can also help them to keep a record of the airports they land in and how long each flight took.
