Less than half a year since it was launched, Obama's scholarship for women program is already starting to show positive results. For starters, we are starting to see more and more women wanting to get higher education, most of whom would otherwise have had no inclination whatsoever to go back to school heading back to the class, as they seek to take advantage of these considerably generous scholarships.
The Obama's scholarship for women program seems to be, for the most part, Sensor swab informed by appreciation of a fact that has been stated and reiterated by educationists for quite a long period of time now, that to educate a woman is to educate the nation. It is, after all, a very well established fact that women with higher educational standards tend to be better moms than their counterparts with poorer educational standards, and that the children of such better educated moms tend to go on to become academic achievers themselves.
It is therefore encouraging to see women who were previously 'stay at home moms' trooping back to colleges, and in so doing improving not only their prospects for a better life, but also the prospects of the whole nation by extension.
With Obama's scholarship for women program a woman stands to get as much as $6,000 per annum (which could go higher when pooled with other grants and scholarship that might also be available to the woman in question), easily footing the whole tuition bill for her course of study. Obviously, these are significant sums of money - enough to get even the person who had all but given up on the hope of ever going back to school to start thinking of her academic and professional dreams again.
